Regan Pifer writes that Tim Allen–playing Mike Baxter on “Last Man Standing”–has humorously said everything we think on “microaggressions.” Or, as Baxter refers to it on the show, “midget warfare.”
In the show, as he helps his daughter with one of her college assignments, she reminds him the school does not allow she use the forbidden language of microaggressions.
His response is one will have you rolling.
As reported on Louder with Crowder:
Mandy: No, uh, you can’t say “Ladies and gentlemen,” because it excludes those who don’t identify as either.
Mike: Hmm. But those are the only two choices.
Mandy: No, not anymore. You just have to keep it gender-neutral, okay? Please continue.
Mike: “Hey, everybody.” “America is the land of opportunity. I stand before you as –”
Mandy: Stop! Okay, by saying that America’s the land of opportunity, you are implying that everyone has the same opportunities.
Mike: I’m not implying it. I’m saying it. If you live here and you work hard, you can succeed. That’s how this works.
Mandy: Uh…yeah, that one’s on here, too. It hurts the feelings of those who work hard and don’t succeed.
Finally, Baxter states the obvious…
This is how liberals attack our freedom of free speech. Taken to the nth degree, the list of words, phrases, and statements that would NOT offend the “snowflake generation” is incredibly short.
You try hard enough and anything could be construed as offensive in liberal-land.
Before you know it, we will all walk around as mutes. Then, particular facial expressions and gaits will be deemed offensive.
The college liberals and snowflakes of this age need to spend less time focused on everyone around them and more time on bettering themselves, their lives, and their attitudes.
As my dad always said, the only thing you can control is yourself.
