Israeli Ambassador to the United States Ron Dermer appeared on CNN Monday and said that the United Nations “ganged up” on Israel with the resolution condemning Israeli settlement activity in the West Bank.
Dermer said the U.N. targeting his country is an “old story,” but added that what is new here is that the Obama administration was behind the gang-up.
“What is new is that the United States did not stand up and oppose that gang-up,” he said. “And what is outrageous is that the United States was actually behind that gang-up.”

All of which prompted Lemon to ask Dermer, “Ambassador, what’s the evidence that the United Nations is behind this gang-up?”
Dermer responded that Israel has “clear evidence of it and we will present that evidence to the new [Trump] administration through the appropriate channels.”
Lemon asked why not present the evidence now, perhaps forgetting that President Barack Obama is still in office.
After Dermer explained the ramifications of the just-passed resolution, Lemon launched into a spirited defense of the Obama administration, saying this is “only the first resolution that’s critical of Israel” they’ve allowed, while past administrations have done worse.
“That’s all false!” Dermer fired back, with a wave of the hand.
The ambassador proceeded to set the record straight, but not before he left Lemon speechless with this slam: “I’ll just tell you the facts because my sense of history goes back before breakfast!”
