Daily News reports:
A 15-year-old girl told police she was kidnapped at gunpoint and raped in a Coney Island apartment for three days — then recanted her story when faced with surveillance video showing she was socializing with her supposed attackers, police sources said Thursday.
Cops are now investigating the incident as an acquaintance rape, since at least one of the four boys she had sex with was over 16, and she is a minor. No arrests have been made.
The victim told police that she was walking down W. 24th St. near Surf Ave. about 4 p.m. Monday when one of the suspects pulled a gun on her and forced her to a nearby apartment building.
The suspect took her to an apartment on the 12th floor, where he and four others repeatedly raped her, according to her initial account.
She said the suspects let her go around 2 a.m. Thursday, fearing that the police would be looking for her.
The teen stuck to the story until police showed her video footage of her hanging out with her would-be attackers, cops said.
In an unrelated case, cops are investigating a 14-year-old Bronx teen’s claims she was raped by five teens at an apartment near W. 170th St. and Jesup Ave. in Highbridge.
Cops were questioning the account of the teen, a psychiatric patient who has been uncooperative with investigators, officials said.
