I don’t know what I’m more disturbed by – that this girl actually thinks that Donald Trump is going to ban abortion in one mighty stroke of his executive order pen (if Obama could do it…) Or the fact that progressives are teaching their daughters to look forward to the day that they have their first abortion.
Either way, progressive parenting is a scary thing to consider.
George Stephanopolous’s wife, actress Ali Wentworth, was on “The View” and she talked about how election night went with her family – including the two-word phrase that their 14-year-old daughter yelled in despair at Donald Trump’s victory –
It’d almost be funny, if it weren’t so sick.
We could be inclined to laugh about this – an overdramatic teenager experiencing her first political loss (well, the first one she’d remember, anyway). But there’s something else going on here – something that I cannot stand leftists screaming about anymore.
The left has been COMPLETELY freaking out since the election and they’re all “What do we tell our CHILDREN??”
First off, if you’re dragging your kids into politics at a young age, what in the WORLD is wrong with you??
Second, you’re the adult. You’re freaking out because you’re afraid you’re kids are going to freak out when they probably don’t even get it at all. How about you put on your big kid pants and stop hiding behind the supposed “fear” in your children?
Third, if your kids really are that scared, how about you tell your kids that this is how the system works? Your side wins sometimes, and your side loses sometimes. It’s not the end of the world. You regroup, learn from your mistakes, listen to other people, and do better next time. Explain the ins and outs of how we choose presidents, as well as contrast that with how other countries (like, say, North Korea) “choose” their leaders (basically, it’s “Vote for Dear Leader, or be sent to a prison camp”). Maybe use this as a teaching moment to explain why Americans have it so good, even when we back the losing side.
(If you’re still having problems talking to your kids – particularly your daughters – about the election, show them this letter from Red Dawn. You’re welcome.)
I’m so sick of the left crying about how their kids are having meltdowns from the election and what are they supposed to tell them? If you – as the adult – haven’t figured out the answer to that question by now, then why should we let your side EVER run the country again?
