A Dundalk man was arrested on Sunday after he shot at his wife and barricaded himself in his house after his wife took a bite of his grilled cheese sandwich.
Daniel Brian Blackwell, 55, became upset with his wife after she took a bite of his grilled cheese sandwich. He began amassing his guns and ammo, causing the wife to flee to the basement. Shortly after, Blackwell entered the basement and fired three shots into the basement floor, prompting his wife and three teenagers to flee from the house.
Tactical units surrounded the house and eventually convinced Blackwell to surrender at 8:30 pm. He was subdued with pepper balls and taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
When police searched the house, they discovered a long gun with a chambered round placed just inside the front door.
Blackwell was charged with first and second-degree attempted murder and other related charges. As of now, no attorney is listed for him in court records.
In addition to attempted murder, Blackwell will likely face additional charges for illegally owning guns, which he is prohibited from owning due to prior assault convictions.
