When you think about your beloved dogs and the day you’ll have to say goodbye to them, you most likely imagine that you’ll be the one outliving them.
And while that’s heartbreaking enough, sometimes the roles are reversed.
In November of this year, after Ryan Jessen checked into the hospital for what he thought was a migraine, it turned out he’d suffered a brain hemorrhage and his loved ones would need to say their final goodbyes.
But of all the goodbyes that Ryan had to say, one was far more emotional than the rest. The hospital staff went above and beyond and allowed Ryan’s dog, Mollie, to snuggle on his bed and say one final goodbye to her owner.
Ryan’s sister, Michelle, caught the emotionally charged moment on camera. It is truly powerful to see how beautiful the relationship between an owner and a dog can truly be.
