James Clapper — the Director of National Intelligence — dropped a bomb on Democrats on Thursday.
In testimony to Congress regarding Russia hacking the 2016 election, he said:
“They did not change any vote tallies or anything of that sort.”
Clapper added that the FBI, CIA, and NSA all agree that Russia did hack the election. He didn’t go further than that, though.
Such information is like a punch-in-the-gut to Democrats who are consistently pushing the idea that Russia swayed the 2016 race.
Hillary Clinton herself even told the public — following her crushing defeat:
“Putin publicly blamed me for the outpouring of outrage by his own people, and that is the direct line between what he said back then and what he did in this election.”
Clapper’s statement is a party crasher for a lot of Democrats.
In fact, according to a YouGov poll, 52% of Democrats believe that Russia was able to change voting totals. Also, they’re of the mind that it was all to get Donald Trump elected as the next president.
Clapper plans to release additional information next week. Meanwhile, the narrative that Russia changed the votes just got blown out of the water.
