The U.N. Security Council voted to condemn Israeli settlements in the West Bank last week. The United States– which has veto power– stood by and allowed it to happen. What’s more, Israeli officials have reason to believe that the Obama administration actively pushed for the anti-Israel resolution. They’re not just saying this either. They plan on releasing evidence of the Obama-U.N. collusion to the Trump administration.
“We will present this evidence to the new administration through the appropriate channels, and if they want to share it with the American people they are welcome to do it,” Israel’s ambassador, Ron Dermer, told CNN.
“It’s an old story that the United Nations gangs up on Israel,” Dermer continued. “What is new is that the United States did not stand up and oppose that gang up. And what is outrageous is that the United States was actually behind that gang up.”
He’s right. The U.N.’s treatment of Israel isn’t anything new. Last year, the U.N. actually named Israel as the number one violator of women’s rights. Not North Korea or Saudi Arabia or Syria or Iran. Israel. I’ll wait here while you laugh. (Or cry. Or both.) For the record, China, Saudi Arabia, Cuba and Venezuela are current members of the U.N. Human Rights Council.
It’s so outrageous. Of course, the Obama administration is in denial mode.
“With respect to this resolution, we did not draft this resolution; we did not introduce this resolution,” Deputy National Security Adviser Ben Rhodes said. “The Egyptians, in partnership with the Palestinians, are the ones who began circulating an earlier draft of the resolution. The Egyptians are the ones who moved it forward yesterday. And we took the position that we did when it was put to a vote.”
I’m comforted in the fact that Israel knows that it has a friend in the incoming Trump administration. And I desperately hope they know that the American people stand with them.
We need to get out of this delusional organization. Speaking of…
The United Nations has such great potential but right now it is just a club for people to get together, talk and have a good time. So sad!

I disagree here. I don’t think it has any potential. It’s a glorified pulpit designed to give hostile, hypocritical countries legitimacy. We need to defund the United Nations. In fact, the Trump administration should shut down the headquarters. Send them an eviction notice and turn it into another hotel for all I care. Anything. I’m not picky.
