James Carville used to be one of those respectable – if a bit of a loudmouth – liberals who you’d listen to for a grin… He’d go off on Republicans with some rant and rave and his wife, Republican Mary Matalin, would soothe him with a pat on his bald head or feed him a little treat.
The now elderly, Southern Leftist has become completely unhinged, and I’m pretty sure not even Mary Matalin can bring him back.
Speaking on MSNBC, Carville accused FBI Director James Comey of “acting in concert and coordination with House Republicans. End of story.”
But that wasn’t the end. Not really.
Carville then became enraged when host Thomas Roberts asked him to focus on the FBI and not the WikiLeaks emails, which Carville kept blaming on the KGB.
“Why are you defending this?” he asked. “Why are sitting here when our democracy is under assault? When the FBI is acting at the behest of Jason Chaffetz? And sitting here acting like this is something legit? It’s not. It’s an effort to affect this election, and Democrats and people across this country have to know this.”
As the interview was ending, Carville said:
“I can’t think about the election right now, what I can think about, what I can talk about, is how unprecedented this is. And how the House Republicans and the KGB are trying the affect our democracy. And I think that’s a very important issue. I think it’s probably the most important issue anybody’s faced in a presidential campaign in a long, long time.”
Good Lord. Where’s Mary Matalin when you need her?
