President-elect Donald Trump has discussed his desire to work with Russia and improve relations on the campaign trail. Just a week after Trump’s huge victory, Sen. John McCain has already sent a warning his way about what the long-time government employee called another potential Russian “reset.”
CBS News reported:
Sen. John McCain (R-Arizona), the 2008 Republican presidential nominee and chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee, said Tuesday in the wake of more Russian airstrikes in Syria that the U.S. should not place substantial “faith” in Putin’s desire to improve relations.
“With the U.S. presidential transition underway, Vladimir Putin has said in recent days that he wants to improve relations with the United States,” McCain said in a written statement.
“We should place as much faith in such statements as any other made by a former KGB agent who has plunged his country into tyranny, murdered his political opponents, invaded his neighbors, threatened America’s allies, and attempted to undermine America’s elections.”
McCain, a card-carrying member of the establishment, proved his irrelevancy and allegiance to the globalist establishment once again with that statement. We shouldn’t put our faith in Putin, sure, but you know who else we shouldn’t put our faith in? John McCain.
Speaking of which, Trump called, he said term limits are coming and your time is up. Bye now!
The Left has used the rallying cry that “the Russians are coming!” throughout the election cycle. The Obama administration used the ginned up fears to push the idea that the election systems need to be federalized. That says it all…
CBS News reported:
In the wake of Mr. Trump’s election, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Trump and Putin are “very much alike” in their worldviews and said Russia hopes “for their good personal relationship.” Putin and Mr. Trump spoke by phoneMonday.
McCain added that Putin “has rejoined [Syrian President] Bashar Assad in his barbaric war against the Syrian people.” He cautioned that previous attempts at a Russian “reset” — most recently, that of President Obama and then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in 2009 — did not work, so there’s little reason to hope a Trump-led effort would have a different result.
“The Obama Administration’s last attempt at resetting relations with Russia culminated in Putin’s invasion of Ukraine and military intervention in the Middle East,” McCain wrote. “At the very least, the price of another ‘reset’ would be complicity in Putin and Assad’s butchery of the Syrian people. That is an unacceptable price for a great nation.”
Trump has said that he would try to work with the Russians and improve relations. Whether that will be possible remains to be seen, but it isn’t necessarily an unreasonable goal and it doesn’t mean that he’ll follow in the footsteps of the failed policies of Obama and Clinton.
This is precisely what the globalists do, they attempt to make it seem as if there are differences between their ilk in the two parties and that they aren’t all in on it.
We’re going to see fervent attempts from the establishment to knock Trump down left, right, and center. McCain slyly attempted to compare Trump and his policies to Obama and Clinton, yet the reality is that McCain is the one who’s a member of the club.
People are on to their game but that doesn’t mean that they won’t keep trying to play it.
