Throughout the whole campaign, I thought Megyn Kelly handled herself like a champ. She got pulled into all this controversial garbage through no fault of her own (unless you want to fault her for doing her freaking JOB) and she did the absolute best she could with what got thrown at her.
It’s not like I’m a Megyn Kelly fangirl (I haven’t watched Fox News on a regular basis since I moved out of my parents’ house and eschewed paying hundreds of dollars each month for cable TV, when I can get Netflix and Hulu for less than $25/month. Whatever I see of FNC, I see from video clips online) and I don’t know how my fellow Chicks feel about her. Speaking for myself, I can definitely respect her for Megyn’s professionalism, especially when so many others in the media acted like total slobbering a**hats during the campaign.
(I was not sorry at all not to have regular TV during the 2016 election.)
So I completely understand Megyn getting mad at Hillary Clinton’s campaign team trying to use her as a prop against Donald Trump to score political points – but then Hillary and her team refused to come on Megyn’s show because they didn’t want to “legitimize” Fox News, because they’re just petty like that. Which, arguably, was yet another reason why Hillary lost –
You want objective journalism and tough questions, no matter which political party is in the hot seat? That’s Megyn Kelly.
I know there’s been rumors about Megyn going to another channel because her contract with Fox is up. I don’t know how much stock I put in those rumors, honestly (Megyn Kelly going to CNN is like a putting the Mona Lisa next to finger-paintings done by a triggered social justice snowflake in a college campus safe space). But wherever she ends up, her presence is certainly going elevate the place.
