I admit, this headline nearly brought me to tears when I saw it this morning (tears of joy, that is. And I say “nearly,” because this monstrosity isn’t quite out of our lives yet. The day that finally happens, I will bawl like a baby).
According to this, Senate Republicans held a late-night vote to clear the first hurdle in repealing Obamacare. The vote was along party lines, so obviously the Democrats cried that the Republicans weren’t being bipartisan enough… even though it was only Democrats who passed that crap in the first place (pun not intended, but I’ll run with it anyway) –
The Senate early Thursday passed a measure to take the first step forward on dismantling President Barack Obama’s health care law, responding to pressure to move quickly even as Republicans and President-elect Trump grapple with what to replace it with.
The nearly party-line 51-48 vote came on a nonbinding Republican-backed budget measure that eases the way for action on subsequent repeal legislation as soon as next month.
“We must act quickly to bring relief to the American people,” said Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky.
Of course, the Democrats are losing their cheese over this (it’s Obama’s LEGACY, after all!) Out of all the tantrums, Bernie Sanders had the most dramatic (and factless) meltdown over the whole thing –

Trust me, people. You can live without health insurance if you need to.
Kind of wonder if anyone’s told Bernie how many people lost their healthcare thanks to this total pile of garbage. At best, the ACA might have broke even in terms of people being insured. But I highly doubt we can expect the best out of ANY of this.
Regardless, the Senate did their part. Now it’s the House’s turn. And then President (soon) Trump gets to sign off on it. And, yes, there will be FLOODS of tears of joy when that happens.
