The head of computer vision at Oculus VR, Dov Katz, 38, was arrested at a Seattle hotel on Dec. 21 after he solicited unprotected sex from an underage girl.
According to records, Katz offered to pay $350 to have sex with a girl he knew was only 15.
Katz has been charged with attempted commercial sexual abuse of a minor after he texted a girl he believed was 15, but in reality was an undercover agent from the Tukwila Police Department.
Listed below are the charging documents:
When Katz was arrested at the Embassy Suites hotel just south of Seattle, he was carrying $600 US and he told officers his phone number, which matched the one used to text the underage girl.
After getting arrested, Katz posted his $125,000 bail.
Facebook bought Oculus in 2014 for $3 billion. According to The Times of Israel, Katz was “an integral part of the team that developed the Oculus Rift headset.”
