David Brock, founder of Media Matters for America, has offered to pay the legal fees of anyone who has their hands on potentially damaging tapes of GOP nominee Donald Trump during his time on “The Apprentice,” according toPolitico.
On the other side, however, one of the most influential television producers, Mark Burnett, made a huge statement in Trump’s favor — one that carried a threat with it.
Burnett, creator of “The Apprentice,” told his staff he would sue them if they leaked any footage from the show.
The left didn’t get the home run they were hoping for with the leaked tape from 2005 and they’re hoping for round two, but Burnett is playing defense.
Burnett is considered to be a friend of Trump and is still backing the GOP candidate after Trump was attacked with a 2005 recording of himself makinglewd comments that have set off a political firestorm.
Or was it a firestorm?
Trump got hit hard, and the video was released at the perfect time — on Friday afternoon before the second debate — so it was hard to respond before the debate occurred. With moderators Martha Raddatz and Anderson Cooper, the debate was never going to be anything other than a three-pronged attack on Trump.
What they were not counting on was the performance Trump gave during the second debate: He took his precarious political position, galvanized his supporters and even came away with a debate victory just by not letting Democrat nominee Hillary Clinton keep the initiative.
The Democrats didn’t shut down Trump with their attack and are looking for more ammunition, stunned that anyone is still willing to vote for him.
What liberals don’t seem to understand is that conservatives too find Donald Trump’s comments outrageous, repulsive, infuriating and reprehensible on every level.
But that doesn’t prevent many conservatives from voting for him.
For conservatives in one of the most pivotal elections in American history, we don’t really have a choice. We’re supporting Donald Trump for many reasons: Some of us because we (in spite of his behavior) like him, some of us because we like his policies, and many because it is the best stand to make against Hillary Clinton.
This vote is not the measurement of character between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump — and thank goodness for that. It is socialism going to battle against the conservative ideal.
That makes the voting decision significantly less difficult.
