With the inauguration just weeks away, the topic of conversation isn’t about who will perform at the event.
Rather, the conversation has been orbiting around who will not be performing.
Everyone from Elton John to high school marching bands has passed on the chance to join in on the festivities.
While it was rumored that Andrea Bocelli backed out of performing due to backlash from fans, Eagles singer Joe Walsh is here to provide us with an explanation for why celebrities won’t go near the inauguration with a 39 1/2 foot pole:
Well, I’ll tell ya why… The president is ruthless on Twitter. And then everybody’s afraid to get Twittered. Stocks go up and down and stuff. That’s why. Everybody’s scared.
But don’t expect Walsh to be coming out with a political stance of his own anytime soon:
“I think artists should stay out of politics right now, wait and see what happens, then write songs,” Walsh said.
Walsh then admitted that fear over the wrath of Donald Trump and his vengeful Twitterings is likely a “fake fear.”
