On Tuesday, Wikileaks released what they titled “Vault 7” which details the various hacking techniques of the CIA. A total of 8,761 CIA documents has been released in what Wikileaks has dubbed “Year Zero”
As reported by the Daily Mail, the CIA can mimic and disguise it’s own hacking as Russian hacking due to stolen malware from Russia.
This means if the CIA were to say, hack a government official and use the information obtained against the official, when an investigation was conducted, it would seem as though the hack was done by Russia.
We are in dangerous times. The CIA can essentially pose as hackers from anywhere in the world as long as they have the malware to create the ‘fingerprints’. They can create any narrative they want with this ability. They can claim the Russians hacked the DNC even if it was actually the CIA. Stay tuned as Wikileaks releases more damaging information from their ‘Vault 7’ CIA drop.
In October there was a major DDoS attack that downed many major websites across the internet. At the time, many believed the attack was done by Russia, as reported by Heavy. But with the new leaks show that the attacks may have been the CIA hoping to lead investigators to believe it was Russia, furthering their own narrative.
President Trump has not had the best relationship with the intelligence community since his inauguration. Numerous leaks have come from the intelligence community, many of which he has blamed on people who are still loyal to the Obama administration.
I think that President Obama is behind it because his people are certainly behind it. And some of the leaks possibly come from that group, which are really serious because they are very bad in terms of national security. But I also understand that is politics. In terms of him being behind things, that’s politics. And it will probably continue.
These new leaks give President Trump more reason to distrust the CIA and the intelligence community. If Trump wants to improve relations with Russia, he will have to prove to Russia that the CIA isn’t going to go rogue.
