NBC’s Matt Lauer got destroyed by former President George W. Bush on Wednesday after he tried to force the former president to blame President Trump for all the division in the country.
In typical Lauer fashion, he asked the former president difficult questions that more or less force him to answer them in a way that would make Trump look bad.
“But there’s enormous division in the country right now, and although the president says he hopes to unify the country, have you in the first month seen him do or say anything that in your opinion, would be an attempt to heal the wounds of the election?”
However, it was Bush’s response to that question that reminds us why he was an awesome president. Rather than attack Trump, he reminded Lauer that it was the media under former President Barack Obama that became more divisive than ever and that Lauer himself has become an irrelevant journalist since Trump’s presidency began.
Talk about getting roasted. Hopefully more ex-presidents and important officials will speak up about the media and how biased they have become in recent time.
