The Democratic Party continues to oppose the Trump administration and made it clear on Monday that they will shutdown the government if President Trump tries to push forward with his wall.
Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer said the Democrats will not for a must-pass government funding bill next month, which will likely include money for Trump’s wall.
“That will not stand,” Schumer, D-N.Y., warned Monday in a Senate floor speech. “It would be inappropriate in our judgement to insist on the inclusions of such funding in a must-pass appropriations bill that is needed by the Republican majority to avoid a government shutdown.”
A short-term funding measure is set to expire in April.
Currently, the Republican Party controls majorities in both chambers, but have shied away from revealing what they will include in the budget bill for the remainder of the fiscal year.
American citizens are becoming frustrated with the Democrats over their desire to continuously obstruct the Trump administration.
Here’s to hoping that the Democrats back down out of fear of their party collapsing even further into obscurity.
