White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer silenced the press on Monday after they badgered him about President Trump’s promise to donate his salary to charity.
The question came up again this week after Trump was set to receive his second payment.
Quick on his feet, Spicer turned the tables on the press, making them make the difficult decision.
“The president’s intention right now is to donate his salary at the end of the year, and he has kindly asked you all to determine where that goes,” said Spicer.
“The way that we can avoid scrutiny is to let the press corps determine where it should go,” he continued.
One man in the press corps shouted that it should be donated to the “press corps,” to which Spicer jokingly responded, “Sure!”
