Conservative think tank Media Research Center said billionaire George Soros donated $246 million to groups that were mobilized in the “Day Without A Woman” protests on Wednesday.
Among the 100 organizations that received funding from the Hungarian-American businessman are the American Civil Liberties Union, Center for American Progress, Human Rights Watch and Planned Parenthood.
The 86-year-old hedge-fund investor is one of the outspoken critics of U.S. President Donald Trump.
The Daily Mail reports:
The billionaire has also been openly critical Donald Trump and has called the president a ‘would-be dictator.’ Soros previously slammed Trump’s administration calling them a ‘cabinet of incompetent extremists.’
The Day Without a Woman protesters were encouraged to wear red and skip work. Fox News reported that schools in four states were forced to close for a day because staff members chose to join the protests.
