Actor Faizon Love was arrested Tuesday following an altercation with an airport valet over a bill disagreement at John Glenn Columbus International airport in Ohio.
Love, who appeared in several movies and TV shows such as the 2003 Christmas comedy film Elf, was seen in a CCTV footage grabbing the far smaller guy by the back of the neck as he threw him to the ground. He then shoved the employee into the desk, before finally tossing him to the floor again.
According to the 370-pound actor, things turned violent when he was spat at by the valet, who was identified as Terrence Artis Gaines II. The comedian later blamed social media for the lack of respect of today’s younger people.
The Daily Mail reports:
The unrepentant star blamed the influence of social media for making the youth of today less respectful.
He said: ‘These kids are just running rampant and they talk crazy to you on Twitter and they don’t understand, on Twitter they safe.
‘In life you can’t talk crazy to people, especially the grown folks, and you can’t spit on nobody.
‘You can’t do any of that imaginary stuff online.’
And he said that it teaches a lesson on what happens when he is not treated properly.
Love spent Tuesday night at the Franklin County jail. The next morning, he appeared in Franklin County Municipal Court to plead not guilty and was released on a $2,000 bond.
