The United Nations, which has proven to be ineffective time and time again from the refugee crisis to curbing the rise of radical Islam, will soon see the extent of U.S. President Donald Trump’s election pledge that things won’t be business as usual.
Foreign Policy reported that the Trump administration has given the State Department its marching orders to cut over 50 percent of America’s funding to UN programs.
The move for the drastic cuts comes as the White House is set to release this week its 2018 topline budget plan.
100% Fed Up reports:
This news should make the liberals, who are all about “fair share” very happy…because Lord knows the U.S. has certainly been paying more than their fair share to keep the UN afloat for way too long…
The impending changes have already stoked panic in the world body. If the steep budget cuts push through, it would spark “chaos” as other big donors would struggle to fill the void, according to Richard Gowan, a UN expert at the European Council on Foreign Relations.
Last year, the U.S. shouldered $1.5 billion of the UN refugee agency’s $4 billion budget.
