It is not a secret that several conservative lawmakers are not happy with the House Republicans’ American Health Care Act, also known as “RyanCare,” arguing that the bill will continue to drive up the cost of health care and will be politically disastrous for President Donald Trump.
Republican congressman Dave Brat of the state of Virginia is one of those lawmakers who disapprove their party’s own bill.
In an interview with Matt Boyle, radio host of Breitbart News Saturday, Brat said that Trump promised to bring health care to “price-discovery and competition across state lines” in order to bring prices down.
He adds that conservatives want Trump to be hugely successful, which is why they don’t want to deliver to the president’s table a bill that’s going to fail in a few years.
The Gateway Pundit reports:
In addition to anticipated price hikes, the bill involves keeping Obamacare insurance market regulations and the Senate filibuster rule which makes getting rid of these free market killing regulations a future impossibility.
For conservatives, “RyanCare” does not eliminate the anti-competitive provisions, entitlements and regulations brought by ObamaCare, the reason why they demand for a conservative health care bill.
