President Donald Trump and Saudi Arabian Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman met in the White House on Wednesday where the Saudi Prince called the president a “True friend of Muslims,” according to The Gateway Pundit.
The monarch also said that he respects and supports Trump’s travel ban for people from seven Muslim-majority countries. The Prince argued that Trump’s proposed travel ban is a sovereign decision and aims to prevent terrorists from entering American soil.
A federal judge in Hawaii on Wednesday blocked the White House’s revised travel ban order.
The Prince’s senior advisor described the meeting as a “huge success” and a turning point for the two countries’ bilateral relations, according to a report by Breitbart.com.
Contrary to the negative image that the media has painted Trump, Prince Mohammed considers the president a true friend of the Muslims, the Prince’s senior advisor said. He also added that Trump expressed his “deep respect for the religion of Islam.”
