Federal funding of liberal TV and radio programs will finally end in the Trump administration as the government will unwind its contract with the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.
Office of Management and Budget Director Mick Mulvaney announced the proposed end to funding during the briefing on the administration’s budget blueprint.
Mulvaney said that technically there’s still some amount of money in the budget for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting but only enough for the federal government to unwind its involvement with them.
“Next year it might be zero, it may take a while to unwind that relationship, it’s just the nature of contracts,” Mulvaney said.
100% Fed Up reports:
Forcing taxpaying Americans to fund liberal propaganda television and radio shows is similar to union bosses forcing conservative union members to contribute their hard earned dues to help candidates like Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama win elections. No American should have to pay for government funded media outlets who pass off biased opinions by liberal hosts as “news” or television shows that work to indoctrinate our youth.
The CPB receives about $450 million every year, with $99.1 million going to public radio, according to The Washington Free Beacon.
Agencies that promote liberal and leftist propaganda are notably being left out of the Trump administration’s so-called “skinny” budget, which reportedly contains “dramatic” spending cuts.
