First daughter Ivanka Trump now has an office in the White House and will soon have access to classified information and receive government-issued communications devices, according to Politico.
Ivanka Trump said in a statement Monday that she will continue to offer her candid advice and counsel to her father President Donald Trump, as she has done her entire life.
She adds that while there’s precedent for an adult child of the U.S. president in recent years, she will voluntarily adhere all of the ethics rules for government employees.
Ivanka, who is essentially not a government employee since she has no official role, will have her office next to senior adviser Dina Powell in the West Wing.
Jamie Gorelick, Ivanka’s attorney, said the first daughter will serve as the “eyes and ears” of the president while offering her advice on broad-ranging issues.
