Deputy White House chief of staff Katie Walsh is out of the Trump White House after it was announced on Thursday that the “close ally of chief of staff Reince Priebus” will assume the role of an adviser both to a pro-Trump nonprofit and the Republican National Committee (RNC).
The shakeup marks the second top White House official to depart within the first 100 days of the Trump administration, after national security adviser Michael Flynn’s was forced to resign last month.
Walsh was Priebus’ deputy when she served as his chief of staff when he was chairman of the RNC before joining him in the administration.
However, rumors surfaced on the Internet that Walsh was actually fired for leaking information about the White House. The timing of her departure incidentally came after a New York Times report that outed two National Security Council members as the source for the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee Devin Nunes’ intelligence reports, according to 100% Fed Up.
