President Donald Trump has made it clear to Chinese President Xi Jinping ahead of their first meeting next week that the U.S. would no longer tolerate massive trade deficits and job losses, according to a report by the Gateway Pundit.
In a tweet on Thursday, Trump said he expects their discussions will include North Korea and growing Chinese ambitions in the South China Sea, which he said “will be a very difficult one.”
In the economic front, he said that America will no longer deal with huge trade deficits with the world’s second-largest economy. He adds that he intends to reverse the massive loss of American jobs to China, and that U.S. companies “must be prepared to look at other alternatives.”
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lu Kang did not elaborate about the agenda or details of the meeting between the two world leaders. Trump would host Xi at the White House next Thursday and at his Mar-a-Lago retreat in Florida the following day.
