The Black Lives Matter movement in Philadelphia banned white people in its upcoming event described as a “black only space,” according to organizers, according The Daily Caller.
The meeting, which is scheduled on April 15, invites people to discuss initiatives and projects for the upcoming year so they can “meet, strategize and organize,” and families are encouraged to bring their children along too.
But according to the organizer’s Facebook event page, white people are explicitly not invited from the meeting.
Even when people took to Twitter to question the ban on white people, Black Lives Matter Philly remained firm by their decision, arguing that their meetings are “black centered.”
Anyone who identifies as “African disapora” is allowed to attend, the group explained over Twitter. In a tweet, Black Lives Matter Philly said, “If you identify as a person of the African Diaspora you can attend our meetings and become a member. If not you can support us in other ways.”
