California Democratic Rep. Jackie Speier, a member of the House Intelligence Committee, said that it is possible that Barack Obama’s national security adviser Susan Rice was the one who unmasked President Donald Trump’s former national security adviser Michael Flynn, according to The Daily Caller.
Speier told The Daily Caller Monday that being a national security adviser gives one all the opportunity to unmask because that person is one who gives advice to the president on issues about national security.
On Monday, Fox News reported that Rice was behind a highly organized White House operation that requested intelligence information about the Trump’s associates. Joining her in the alleged operations was her deputy Ben Rhodes, according to Fox citing multiple sources.
Speier said she’s yet to receive confirmation if Flynn was unmasked during surveillance by the intelligence community of Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislayak. If it was, it must have been for national security reasons, she said.
