Supermodel and reality TV star Kendall Jenner was blasted on social media because of her new Pepsi ad showing how she used sugary beverage to quell a riot, which led to some accusing her and the company for using the Black Lives Matter movement for profit.
The two-minute commercial, titled “Live For Now Moments Anthem,” appears to show the company’s well-intentioned portrayal of a peaceful rally inspired by a woman standing up to police at a Baton Rouge protest in 2016, but is now going viral for all the wrong reasons.
The ad is clearly an attempt to attract a politically active younger generation, but the soft drink maker clearly did not expect the immediate backlash.
The commercial ends with the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star joining the protest herself and handing a can of Pepsi to a cop as a goodwill gesture.
In a statement, pro black group Color of Change accused Jenner of “appropriating our pain and struggle.”
100% Fed Up reports:
Kendall Jenner is taking heat for her new Pepsi commercial. Black Lives Matter is going nuts over it and the right is correct in saying it glorifies the rioting and looting happening all too often. What do you think?
We find it interesting that Pepsi is so out of touch that they would glorify the violence and destruction of the left…
