Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-Hawaii) blasted the Trump administration’s decision to launch a military strike on Syria Thursday, saying that it was reckless and will only strengthen terrorists in the region, according to The Daily Caller.
Although Trump’s decision to attack Syria using Tomahawk missiles was met with praise by many lawmakers even those who are openly critical of him like Sens. John McCain and Chuck Schumer, Gabbard said that the Trump administration “acted recklessly without care or consideration.”
She is upset that President Trump acted “without waiting for the collection of evidence from the scene of the chemical poisoning.”
Gabbard also said that she is saddened and angered that President Trump chose to take the advice of war hawks.
She described the assault as “short-sighted” and believes it will result to “more dead civilians, more refugees, the strengthening of al-Qaeda and other terrorists, and a possible nuclear war between the United States and Russia.”
