A mob of Pakistani students brutally beat a classmate to death on campus Thursday for allegedly “promoting Ahmadi religion” on social media. They were reportedly heard shouting “Allahu Akbar” while doing the horrific act, according to the Gateway Pundit.
Marshal Khan, a journalism student of Abdul Wali Khan University in the Pakistani city of Mardan, was accused of sharing blasphemous content on Facebook. About 10 students stripped him naked, stomped on him and smashed his skull while other students watched.
A teacher of Khan described him as “brilliant and inquisitive.” “I never heard him saying anything controversial against the religion,” according to the unnamed teacher.
Even after Khan was dead, the mob also “wanted to burn his body,” according to police chief Mohammad Alam Shinwari. To prevent any further violence, the university decided to close indefinitely.
Last month, Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif ordered to have all content considered to be blasphemous against Islam removed from websites.
