A blogger proposed Thursday on the Huffington Post’s South African version to strip white men the right to vote as a means to advance the “progressive cause.”
Shelley Garland wrote in her op-ed a proposal to remove white men’s voting rights as punishment for their “toxic white masculinity.” Garland, a philosophy student and describes herself as an “activist and a feminist,” said if it hadn’t been for white men, President Donald Trump wouldn’t have won and the United Kingdom wouldn’t have left the EU.
She also blames white men for the financial turmoil in 2008. She wrote, “The influence of reckless white males were one of the primary reasons that led to the Great Recession which began in 2008.”
In her blog post titled “Could It Be Time to Deny White Men the Franchise?” she proposed taking away white men’s ability to vote for at least 20 years.
The Daily Caller reports:
“Let’s be clear, it may be unfair, but a moratorium on the franchise for white males for a period of between 20 and 30 years is a small price to pay for the pain inflicted by white males on others, particularly those with black, female-identifying bodies,” Garland writes.
