Comedian Sarah Silverman joined demonstrators gathered across America’s major cities in the anti-Donald Trump protest calling for him to release his tax returns, the Gateway Pundit reports.
In a “Tax March” protest in New York City Saturday, the 46-year-old comedian and liberal challenged President Trump, “Show us your fucking taxes, you emotional child.”
The anti-Trump “Tax March” protests came on the same day as Tax Day or the day when Americans’ taxes are due to the Internal Revenue Service.
“I was raised to be an active citizen,” she told MSNBC. “I was raised to know that it’s an honor to pay taxes and it’s important to pay taxes.”
Silverman had backed Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders during the Democratic primaries before getting behind eventual presidential nominee Hillary Clinton in the general election.
As a candidate, Trump promised he would release his taxes once the IRS completed their routine audit. Counselor to the president Kellyanne Conway later said that Trump would not be releasing his tax returns as president.
