National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster said on Sunday the problem of North Korea’s nuclear threat “is coming to a head,” adding that the U.S. will use all options available to resolve the tensions peacefully, The Daily Caller reports.
During an interview on ABC News “This Week,” McMaster did not go into specifics to avoid telegraphing U.S. plans, but he said the Trump administration will do what is necessary to keep Americans safe from a potential attack from North Korea.
McMaster said that the U.S. military’s recent actions in Syria and Afghanistan have demonstrated that President Trump is not shying away from making tough decisions.
On Sunday, North Korea attempted another missile test, a day after the reclusive regime paraded its new weapons in celebration of the birth of the country’s founding father and the grandfather of the current leader Kim Jong-un. Although the missile failed, the test suggests Pyongyang is not stopping its provocations anytime soon.
