A UN worker and journalist for an African news agency was arrested for robbing four Midtown banks in the past two months around the world body’s headquarters, and he did all that during lunch breaks, 100% Fed Up reports.
The 53-year-old Abdullahi Shuaibu, a resident of Queens, allegedly hit three banks in February and March and stole about $10,000 in cash.
In each of his robberies, all he did was show a teller a note saying, “Give me $5,000, Thank you.”
Authorities believe that he did all three crimes during lunch breaks from his work at the Foreign Press Centers across from the UN building.
Shuaibu was arrested outside the US Mission to the UN when a retired cop who works as a guard at the mission recognized him from the surveillance pictures that the NYPD circulated last month.
He was charged by authorities with two counts of attempted robbery and two counts of robbery.
