New England Patriots star Rob Gronkowski made a surprise appearance at the White House press briefing of press secretary Sean Spicer Wednesday during his team’s visit to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave, according to 100% Fed Up.
While Spicer was responding to a reporter’s question, the NFL player emerged from a door behind the podium to lend a hand.
“Sean, need any help?” Gronkowski asked Spicer, who is a Patriots fan.
Spicer replied, “I think I got this but thank you.”
Gronkowski pressed, “You sure?”
“Maybe,” Spicer said jokingly. “All right, thanks man. I’ll see you in a minute.”
After the Patriots tight-end left the room, Spicer laughed before regaining his composure and return to reporters’ questions. “All right, that was cool. How do you follow that?” Spicer said.
Gronkowski’s Patriots are at the White House to celebrate their Super Bowl LI win over the Atlanta Falcons in February. The victory earned the distinction of the biggest comeback in Super Bowl history when they rallied from a 28-3 deficit to eventually win 34-28 and capture their fifth Lombardi trophy.
