The man who defended a weeping mother-of-two after an American Airlines flight attendant grabbed her baby’s stroller and hit her in the head has been identified and spoke out about the incident in an interview.
Tony Fierro, who is an insurance agency president and Texas church deacon, said what got him fired up is seeing the baby almost got hurt.
“So that was it. I don’t want to make a big deal about it,” the 42-year-old Fierro told WFAA-TV on Saturday.
100% Fed Up reports:
Many people who watched the video were praising the anonymous man who stood up to defend the woman holding two babies. As it turns out, this isn’t just any guy, he’s a deacon for his church and performs missionary work with his wife who accompanied him that day on the flight. It’s probably not a great public relations move for American Airlines to have a flight attendant threatening to “fight” with a deacon defending the honor of a woman on their airline that he allegedly assaulted.
Fierro, a Dallas resident, is the president of K&S Insurance Agency, the company he joined in 1999. He is also a church deacon at the Crosspoint Community Church in Rockwall, Texas.
Fierro was one of the passengers aboard AA Flight 591 from San Francisco to Dallas. He told the American Airlines flight attendant “Hey bud, you do that to me, and I’ll knock you flat,” after seeing the mother struck in the head by the metal stroller.
The airline suspended the male flight attendant after investigating the incident.
