A new poll by the Washington Post showed that President Donald Trump would still defeat Hillary Clinton both in the popular vote and the Electoral College if the election were held today, the Gateway Pundit reports.
The poll found that Trump’s approval rating stood at 42 percent on a disapproval rating of 53 percent.
Despite the The Post declaring President Trump as “the least popular president in modern times,” the polls showed that Trump’s base continues to like him.
The president took to Twitter to promote the latest ABC/WP poll saying, “New polls out today are very good considering that much of the media is FAKE and almost always negative. Would still beat Hillary in popular vote.”
“ABC News/Washington Post Poll (wrong big on election) said almost all stand by their vote on me & 53% said strong leader,” Trump concluded.
It wasn’t until the second to last paragraph of the Washington Post story that they showed Trump would beat Clinton despite his high disapproval ratings, with 43% saying they would support Trump and only 40% for Clinton.
