Passengers on a regional transit train in Oakland were horrified when dozens of juveniles commandeered a train car, robbing and assaulting passengers in an apparently orchestrated attack, according to the Gateway Pundit.
Witnesses told officials that around 40 to 60 teens jumped the fare gate at the Coliseum Station Saturday night and ran to the second-story train platform.
Bay Area Rapid Transit spokeswoman Alicia Trost said the teens grabbed bags and cell phones from seven passengers and in some cases beat up riders.
Two passengers suffered minor facial injuries and have received treatment.
The teenagers were able to retreat from the station quickly and vanish into the surrounding East Oakland neighborhood before BART officers could arrive to the scene.
Trost said the police are now trying to identify the suspects using surveillance video. But because the suspects are minors, authorities say they can’t share the images with the public.
