Emmanuel Macron, the leading candidate to be the next president of France after his first round victory, has also brought worldwide attention to his wife Brigitte Trogneux, who is his former teacher.
The 64-year-old drama teacher is 24 years older than Macron.
As a teenager, Macron had a sex-filled affair with his drama teacher, who was then pushing into her 40s, according to The Daily Caller.
She was married with three children when the two met, although it is not clear when they started having sex.
In a Reuters report, Trogneux was quoted saying, “Nobody will ever know at what moment our story became a love story.” “That belongs to us. That is our secret,” the now grandmother-of-seven adds.
A new book about their teacher-student relationship says that Macron’s father told Trogneux to stay away from him until he becomes 18.
The couple eventually married in 2007 after Trogneux completed her divorce with her first husband.
The Daily Caller reports:
The home-wrecking romance took time to blossom. Macron kept hitting on Trogneux but she initially declined his advances.
Eventually, Macron moved to Paris to finish high school. Trogneux decided the right thing to do would be to leave her husband — and her three children — and move to Paris with Macron.
Trogneux and Macron got married in 2007.
