President Donald Trump became the first sitting president to speak to the National Rifle Association (NRA) since Ronald Reagan, and took the opportunity to attack Sen. Elizabeth Warren from the stage of the organization’s Leadership Forum in Atlanta Thursday, the Gateway Pundit reports.
President Trump referred to the Democratic Massachusetts senator as “Pocahontas,” taking a jab at her alleged Native American ancestry. The president has accused Warren of faking her heritage, making her a racist.
Speaking to a cheering crowd, Trump said “it may be Pocahontas” who will seek her party’s presidential nomination for the 2020 elections.
The former Harvard Law School professor has not ruled out a presidential run in 2020.
Trump said about the outspoken progressive, “And she is not big on the NRA,” in reference to Warren’s strong support for gun control.
The president also took a shot at his predecessor Barack Obama, declaring to the audience that “the eight-year assault on your Second Amendment freedoms has come crashing to an end.”
