Liberal comedian Bill Maher called Sen. Elizabeth Warren “Pocahontas” on his show HBO’s Real Time on Friday, leaving her speechless and not amused, the Gateway Pundit reports.
It was an awkward moment for the Democratic Massachusetts senator, who didn’t smile, as she promoted her latest book, “This Fight Is Our Fight.”
The conversation was a result of Maher’s criticism of President Donald Trump’s tax plan, which he said benefits only the rich.
Despite this, the political commentator asked Warren why many working-class people still support Trump and not the Democratic Party.
“They’re still with him. They’re not with you,” Maher said. “Explain to me what that disconnection is.”
Warren replied that she’s going to push back and before she could finish her sentence, Maher fired back “They don’t like you, Pocahontas,” he said with a grin while his audience laughed.
Warren, who looked annoyed, refused to respond to the Maher’s remarks. She went on to discuss the “progressive agenda” and dodged questions about a presidential bid in 2020.
