Rep. Maxine Waters said in an interview Sunday that President Donald Trump’s comments about immigration during a rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday were “racist” and “dog whistling,” and aim to instill fear by mentioning Hispanics.
MSNBC’s “AM Joy” host Joy Reid played a video of Trump’s speech during the rally where he lambasted the previous administration’s poor enforcement of immigration laws, ignoring the people’s concerns about crime committed by illegal immigrants.
Speaking to a cheering crowd, Trump said, “Year after year, you pleaded for Washington to enforce our laws, as illegal immigration surged, refugees flooded in and lax vetting threatened your family’s safety and security.”
After the video was played, Waters commented, “That is absolutely racist. That’s that dog whistling.”
Waters suggested that Trump’s comments are divisive and argued that he is using Hispanics to create fear among the American people.
The Democratic lawmaker also said that “no leader, no president should be saying and doing the kinds of things he’s doing.”
100% Fed Up reports:
Maxine Waters and Joy Reid are always entertaining…they feed off of each other. It’s like Waters forgets they’re on TV and just lets it rip with the racist jargon. This is just laughable and hopefully most Americans see through it except for the brainiacs who still vote for this hag in the James Brown wig.
It might sound harsh but this woman helped push the housing bubble with her pal Barnie Frank. She’s a grifter who has lived off of the people for decades by dividing Americans.
