White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer ended his press briefing Tueday without answering questions, leaving his press corps surprised, the Gateway Pundit reports.
Spicer left room after White House budget director Mick Mulvaney finished speaking to reporters about the bipartisan budget deal reached in Congress that avoided a government shutdown.
Spicer only gave a few announcements on the president before giving the podium to Secretary of Homeland Security John Kelly and Mulvaney.
While it is not unusual for administration officials to attend the briefings and speak to the media on specific policy subjects, it is unusual for the press secretary not to stay and take questions afterward.
Reporters wanting to ask him questions were heard shouting “Sean” inside the James S. Brady Press Briefing Room.
Reporters have not been able to ask Spicer about latest news stories such as a phone conversation between President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin supposed to happen that day.
