Democratic senator Richard Blumenthal said on MSNBC Thursday that there should be a special prosecutor to determine if Hillary Clinton aide Abedin had criminal liability by forwarding emails with the classified material.
Morning Joe co-anchor Willie Geist asked the Connecticut lawmaker if Abedin’s actions were criminal.
Blumenthal said, “If there was classified information and it was improperly passed to a person unauthorized to receive it. Yes, it’s a crime.”
When host Joe Scarborough pressed him if it should have been prosecuted, Blumenthal said “it may still be potentially” because it’s not outside the statute of limitations.
“Who will decide it? That’s why we need a special prosecutor to review all of this investigative material,” he adds.
On Wednesday, FBI Director James Comey testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee, which Blumenthal is a member, revealing that Abedin forwarded thousands of emails, some have classified information, to her husband, former New York Rep. Anthony Weiner.
The Gateway Pundit reports:
Yes, there should be a special prosecutor for Huma Abedin but what about Hillary Clinton? Hillary Clinton violated one law after another, year after year and she must be brought to justice. Americans are fed up with The Clinton’s and the entire Obama administration being above the law!
