Centrist candidate Emmanuel Macron was elected the president of France Sunday, soundly defeating far-right nationalist Marine Le Pen, after French voters overwhelmingly elected the candidate who embraced mass Muslim immigration, among other things.
Macron’s win will bring huge relief to the EU who had feared another shocking populist upheaval to follow the UK’s vote to exit the union and Donald Trump’s upset win in the U.S. presidential elections.
With nearly all votes counted, Macron had garnered 66 percent of the vote against just less than 34 percent for Le Pen, a result in line with what most pre-election surveys had suggested.
Le Pen’s loss brings another blow to far-right populist parties following Geert Wilders’s defeat in the Netherlands in March.
Macron’s win will further increase the uneasiness of those who oppose mass Muslim immigration into Europe.
Yves Mamou, a French journalist and author, wrote in an article Sunday labeling Macron as a “Useful Infidel” who does not see terrorism or Islamism a threat.
Mamou also claims that the new president-elect believes French society “must change and be more open” to Islam.

The French citizens just voted for their demise…They elected Macron over the nationalist candidate who would put France first.
Syrian rebel flags flying at the Emmanuel Macron celebration…
Sound familiar? Marine Le Pen is the Donald Trump of France. Her views are aligned with conservatives who want a check on mass migration from third world hell holes.
