Former FBI Director James Comey gave his first statement since getting fired by President Donald Trump on Tuesday, although it was only sent to former colleagues and he is yet to give a public statement to the media about his unexpected termination.
Comey’s letter, which was obtained by CNN’s Shimon Prokupecz, shows that he’s devastated by his removal.
He said that he would not want to waste time dwelling on the reason for his firing.
“I have long believed that a President can fire an FBI director for any reason, or for no reason at all. I’m not going to spend time on the decision or the way it was executed.” Comey said.
He also said he was brokenhearted to leave the agency given his pride he has with his former organization.
Comey said, “It is very hard to leave a group of people who are committed only to doing the right thing. My hope is that you will continue to live our values and the mission of protecting the American people and upholding the Constitution.”
100% Fed Up reports:
Since the moment word got out about the firing of FBI Director James Comey, Democrats and their allies in the leftist media have been falling all over themselves to spew their hatred towards Trump and his unfair firing of James Comey. Even though for months, Democrats and the leftist media have been outraged at Comey for the reopening of the FBI investigation into Hillary’s e-mails just prior to the election, all is forgiven now. It’s time for the media and the Democrats to come together, regroup and focus on the real target…President Trump.
