This week, ABC announced it would not be renewing Tim Allen’s hit Friday night comedy “Last Man Standing,” despite the show’s solid ratings, causing anger among devoted fans who claim the decision was made because of Allen’s conservative views, 100% Fed Up reports.
The show, reportedly having record-high ratings in its sixth season, has 8.1 million viewers and the network’s second-most-watched comedy this season behind Modern Family.
The show has been praised for being one of the few on television that appeal to conservative audience.
Allen, a conservative who has expressed support for President Donald Trump, plays the lead role of Mike Baxter, a man who has conservative political beliefs.
Allen has previously talked about his right-wing views being an issue in Hollywood.
In an interview with Jimmy Kimmel in March, Allen said “You gotta be real careful around here. You get beat up if you don’t believe what everybody else believes. This is like ’30s Germany.”
